In this book two outstanding works of A.Alekhin, dedicated to tournaments in New York 1924 1927, are combined. Alekhine’s legacy & ndash; the best commentator of his time & ndash; It is a truly invaluable material for all who are interested in the development of chess and want to improve in them. This edition was subjected to serious stylistic refinement, carelessness was eliminated (stitching in numbering, omissions of moves, endless typos, lack of unification) in translations of books published in the 20s. In addition, inaccurate spellings of a number of surnames and geographical names were corrected. For the convenience of using the book, the continuous numbering of the games of both tournaments has also been introduced, and the current titles of the debuts are given. Note that the collections of the New York tournaments were published in Russian with a circulation of 6,000 and 5,000 copies, respectively, and have long become a bibliographic rarity.
