Chess Informant. №№ 30-50 1980-199021 Issues Šahovski informator (with Serb. - "Chess informant") — a collection of chess games and materials published 3 times a year (previously-2 times a year). Published since 1966 in Belgrade by the same publisher. Editor-Alexander Matanovich (since 1966). The team of freelance writers-about 500 leading chess players in the world. With a circulation of 30 thousand copies (1987).The purpose of the publication is to provide chess players from different countries with up-to-date information about the most interesting games played in the latest international competitions, the latest achievements of chess theory and practice. Laid the foundations of the information system in chess.Each volume of Šahovski informator contains several hundred selected games of the past 4 months (several hundred more games are given in the notes), 36 original endings and combinations, the most important theoretical novelties in the debuts. The games are published with notes mainly by those chess players who played them, in a special notation, where the figures are indicated by chess symbols. This makes the publication available to chess players from all countries. The use of chess symbols and cipher allows the processing of chess data using a computer, which increases the efficiency of information. There is a constant column — "FIDE", with the latest information about its activities, information about the most important events in the chess life of individual countries and the chess world as a whole.
