Great format. Workbook to the chess textbook. The book you hold in your hands is a collection of assignments for each lesson in the textbook "This book will teach you how to play chess ...". From you and your teacher depends on where and how you will perform them. It's best to complete a task page immediately after each lesson. Perhaps you will do it at home. And maybe you will perform them in school as a test or test. You will find answers to all questions in each lesson. Therefore, carefully read the textbook.

The book brought to your attention contains: 50 tests, 12 positions each, the time allotted for the test is 1 hour. The subject of examples is extensive (35 types in total), their order is random, so it is difficult to deduce any patterns, there is only one way left: to study the position, analyze what you see, highlight the main thing and draw conclusions with the help of reasoning, i.e. offer a solution. If the solution is correct, then you get a certain number of points for it (from one to four). The sum of points scored in solving the positions of one test will allow you to judge the level of your preparation. Before proceeding to solve this or that example, you should first carefully study the position. The order in this case can be as follows: first of all, we are interested in the location of the kings, then the balance of power, then we look at which pieces and pawns (our own and others') are under attack, which ones are poorly protected, and, finally, we pay attention to confrontations, i.e. . bundles and "ambushes". How well you do this will determine the correct answer. We hope that the solution of these tests will be a good basis for your future victories.

Such a minimal amount of preliminary information in the examples from the third part creates the prerequisites for a more thorough study of the position, teaches you to follow the peculiarities of the location of not only someone else's, but also your own king. This manual will allow a novice chess player to consolidate the rules of the game with the help of specific tasks, to better understand how the pieces interact with each other, and also to get acquainted with pinning and overlapping, open attack and double check, i.e. with those chess tricks that are often found in the game.
